![]() it isn't like anyone was thinking they could have cashed in on the books popularity, the book is from the 50's, i am sure no one was expecting or necessarily wanting another adaptation of it. not even on a level of "this character is supposed to be a redhead" or "his house wasn't described like that" but how did they just miss the core plot of the story in general and everything encompassing it? to a point where if they just changed the title and Robert Nevilles name they would have had an entirely different property. but i just cant wrap my head around how they got everything so wrong. ![]() Putting all of that in a movie might not be possible or might not make a good movie, but the 'alternate' ending for this one goes just about as far as it could in one scene: Must Watch: I Am Legend's Original Ending - This is Amazing. For anyone that has read Richard Matheson's classic novel, i am sure that my question is pretty obvious with the differences between the novel and the film. The book's character's realization of their perspective is the whole point of the book. While this latest adaptation didnt seem to emphasize the vampire-ness of the creatures as much as its source material, many of the elements of the story.
